It feels post-apocalyptic, as industrial era machine parts rust away to join with mushrooms and bones. Earth's resilience is lush there. It brings out my resourcefulness as I collect downed wood and treasures out of the streams for my sculptures.
My workshop is a sacred space of meditation, creation, and celebration. Tools range from chain saws, to chisels, to tiny paint brushes. My collection of juju from my journeys is organized like a language of symbols and metaphors. Alchemy. Poetry. Sorcery. A rusty shovel is easily combined with a glass chandelier globe, a tree root, and a map of bird migration here...
Art is not a commodity, it is an experience. A revelation. A way to be reminded of our common humanity and our connection to powerful natural forces. I share my artwork to inspire other human earthlings to slow down and reconnect with each other and the living breathing planet that is our home.
